Corona, Ca. 4/27/23; As the Women's UPSL makes its final touches on the 2023 spring league, Future FC Women's Coaching Staff and Management are also hard at work in assembling the roster for the 2023 Spring Season. The Women's UPSL has received commitments from long standing Women's Programs across the So Cal Region that promises to bring a higher standard and profile to the league. As such, Future FC Head Coach, Shayon 'Shy' Jalayer, recognizes the importance of not only amassing quality players, but players that represent the culture he and his staff look to maintain. "It's been a learning process from year 1 til now. Yes it's important to us to put out a good product on the field, but it's more important that we bring players in who want to be here, who put relationships first, that put 'team' at the forefront, and above all want to work hard to improve as players and people."
The Future coaching staff have wasted no time in getting the commitments of three of their team leaders back for year 3 in Olivia Peraza and Jenna and Sydney Studer.
"I am very excited to step back on the pitch with Future FC", says Olivia Peraza, who has completed her spring season at CS Fullerton."They bring in some quality players to help us stay sharp for the college off-season. Coach Shy and the staff create an environment that sets each player up for success and a culture that gives players like myself a chance to improve, compete and hopefully win a championship."
Jenna Studer added, "the environment and people at Future FC is unmatched. The staff is open and willing to help you work on things that you want to improve on while also supporting you in reaching your goals. The biggest thing is the level of play is at a high level which allows players like myself to continue developing when away from college."
Although Sydney Studer returns to the club, she will not see action in the 2023 season. "Due to injury we won't have the services of Syd on the field, but the staff felt it was hugely important to have her with us. She has tremendous presence, is a natural leader and is a great role model for our young players, and feel her presence in and around the squad simply make us better", said Co-Head Coach Lynsey Jalayer.
Sydney Studer added her thoughts by saying,"Although I can't physcially participate this year, it is important for me to be around the team during my rehab because every year, not only do they make me a better player, but they also make me a better person. At Future we can be ourselves, have a good time, while also keeping soccer at a high level. They are our summer family."
And Introducing...
Future FC Women are excited to announce the signings of 2 players that will add a much needed punch in the attack with the absence of Kiki Suaceda. Coach Shy said,"With Kiki staying in Indiana to continue her education and begining her coaching career, we are losing a huge player. Kiki brought, not only goals, but also a lot of hard work and creativity." He continued, "though you can never replace a player like Kiki, signing AJ (Henessey) and Lauryn (White), will go a long way in filling that hole."
AJ Hennessey: The Norco native played in 20 games as a freshman for TCU helping TCU reach the Sweet 16 of the Women's NCAA Tournament. AJ commenting on her signing with Future FC said, "I am super excited to join at team that has had so much past success! I'm very grateful to continue playing in such a competitive environment for the summer season and grow with the help of my teammates and Coaches!"
Lauryn White: The Redlands native played in all 18 games as a sophomore helping CBU to the quarter-finals of the WAC tournament. Lauryn commenting on her signing with Future FC said, "I can't wait to be a part of this team as we grow!
